In keeping with the mission of the Frederick Hammersley Foundation to preserve and promote Frederick Hammersley's artistic legacy, and to encourage the exhibition of his works which otherwise may not be accessible to the public, funds for conservation of his paintings in public collections will continue to be available through the Frederick Hammersley Fund for the Arts at the Albuquerque Community Foundation.
Any non-profit institution that owns the painting(s) in question may apply by submitting an initial inquiry to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If advisors to the Fund wish to proceed, further information and supplemental materials will be requested.
Advisors to the Fund will consider the significance and condition of the painting(s) and, if the request for funds is approved, may elect that treatment should be handled by a conservator they appoint. In this case, the institution will be reimbursed for any additional costs for shipping and insurance. Otherwise, the institution will be required to provide an assessment and estimate from the applicant’s local and/or preferred conservator.
